Did you know...

     ...Black cats may be considered
bad luck in some cultures but new
research indicates that their fur may
be of a benefit to them.  The gene
associated with black fur may actually give those cats a degree of resistance to certain diseases that occur in lighter-colored cats.

...the majority of white cats with
blue eyes are deaf and white cats with only one blue eye are usually deaf only in the ear on the same side as the blue eye.

...the following list of common house and garden plants are toxic to dogs:

          Azaleas
          Boxwood
          Caladium
          Chinaberry trees
          Dieffenbachia
          Elephant ear
          English ivy
          Holly berry
          Hydrangea
          Mistletoe
          Oleander
          Philodendron
          Wisteria

...Guinea Pigs are timid yet social
creatures.  They are fairly active, need a moderate amount of space and are happiest in pairs.  Guinea Pigs are also easy to tame, handle and rarely bite.  Their diet does need to be supplemented with Vitamin C through either fresh fruits & vegetables or flavored tablets.  Check with your veterinarian for the best care and nutrition options for your Guinea Pig.  For more information, check out http://exoticpets.about.com
